Bill Joy

Bill Joy is a computer scientist. He studied computer science in Michigan and Berkeley and in 1982 was one of the cofounders of Sun Microsystems. In 2003, Joy left Sun Microsystems in order to join KPCB, where he works on innovative information technology and the application of genetic, nano and robot technology. Joy became known to a large public through his article ‘Why the Future Doesn’t Need Us’ in Wired Magazine in 2000, in which he warns against the possible risks of new technologies for humanity.
