C.K. Williams was a poet and a prose writer. His debut novel Lies appeared in 1969. He translated Sophocles’ Women of Trachis and Bacchae by Euripides, as well as poems by Adam Zagajewski and Francis Ponge. Williams has been teaching creative writing at Princeton since 1996. He also published the autobiographical Misgivings (2000), the poetry collection Wait (2010) and the biography On Whitman (2010).
