Francesco Flora

Italy, 1891 - 1962

Francesco Flora studied law and literature and taught literature in Milan and Bologna. He was very prolific as a literary critic and he was editor in chief of several literary magazines, among which the antifascist publication Critica of Benedetto Croce. Flora wrote the famous manual Storia della letteratura Italiana (1940), directed the edition of many classical texts and managed the series Classici of the publishing house Mondadori.
