Hartmut Haenchen

Hartmut Haenchen is a conductor. After studying conducting and voice at the Dresden music academy, he conducted various orchestras within and outside East Germany, and also taught conducting. From 1986 until 1999, he was musical director of De Nederlandse Opera, and between 1986 and 2002 he was principal conductor of the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra and the Dutch Chamber Orchestra. He then worked with orchestras in London and Paris. Since 2011, he has been guest conductor at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
