Ingrid Rowland is an art historian. She studied ancient Greek and classical archaeology at Bryn Mawr College, where she also obtained her PhD. Her main works are The Culture of the High Renaissance (1998), From Heaven to Arcadia (2004) and Giordano Bruno. Philosopher/Heretic (2008). She is a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books and The New Republic. Rowland is currently a professor with the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture, and resides in Rome.
