Kishore Mahbubani was a diplomat until 2004 and worked as a UN ambassador. He wrote a number of books on the increase of the power of Asia and the decline of Western influence in the world, such as Can Asians Think? Understanding the Divide Between East and West (2001), The New Asian Hemisphere: The Irresistible Shift of Global Power to the East (2008) and Has the West Lost It? (2018). Mahbubani has been professor and dean at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore since 2004.
