Lenneke Ruiten

The Netherlands, 1979

Lenneke Ruiten was first trained as a flutist at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, but quickly changed to singing. After an opera education at the Musikhochschule in Munich, she became an internationally renowned soprano: she worked with John Eliot Gardiner, Frans Brüggen and others and performed with De Nederlandse Opera, the Opéra de Lausanne and at the Salzburger Festspiele. In April of 2010, she published a cd with Mozart’s concert arias, on which she is accompanied by the Concertgebouw Kamerorkest directed by Ed Spanjaard.
