Samuel Menashe

United States, 1925 - 2011

Samuel Menashe studied literature at the Sorbonne. In 1961, his first poetry collection appeared: The Many Named Beloved. Parts of his work were included in the Penguin Modern Poets series, but his great breakthrough remained forthcoming. In 2004, Menashe received the Neglected Masters Award, which led to the publication of his work in the Library of America. The result was New and Selected Poems (2005).
