
Francesco Boldizzoni
Francesco Boldizzoni is a historian, leading intellectual in political economy and advocate of social democracy. Considered an authority on the history of capitalism, Boldizzoni’s publications include Means and Ends: The Idea of Capital in the West, 1500-1970 (2008), The Poverty of Clio: Resurrecting Economic History (2011), and Foretelling the End of Capitalism: Intellectual Misadventures since Karl Marx (2020), which have been translated into Arabic, French, Italian, Spanish and Turkish. He has previously taught at Dartmouth, Cambridge, LSE and EHESS, among others, and is currently a professor of political science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Boldizzoni is currently working on his new book on the future of work and the welfare state.
