Miroslav Volf

Miroslav Volf is a public intellectual and one of today’s most prominent Protestant theologians. He is the Founder and Director of the Yale Center for Faith and Culture, and Henry B. Wright Professor of Theology at Yale University Divinity School. Volf was educated in his native Croatia, in the United States and in Germany, where he earned his doctoral and post-doctoral degrees from the University of Tübingen. His most significant books include Exclusion and Embrace (1996, winner of Grawemeyer Award in Religion and one of Christianity Today’s 100 most important religious books of the 20th century), and Flourishing: Why We Need Religion in a Globalized World (2015). The main concern of his work is to explore the resources of religious traditions for living flourishing lives in our pluralistic, late capitalist societies.
