Steven E. Aschheim

Steven E. Aschheim is Professor Emeritus of History at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he was previously director of the Franz Rosenzweig Research Centre for German-Jewish Literature and Cultural History. He specializes in German-Jewish and European cultural history and is the author of such influential studies as The Nietzsche Legacy in Germany, 1890-1990 (1992) and Beyond the Border: The German-Jewish Legacy Abroad (2007). In 2012, Aschheim published At the Edges of Liberalism: Junctions of European, German and Jewish History.
