The Future of Kindness
The Future of Kindness
Paris, Texas (1984) and Wings of Desire (1987) are just two of the famous arthouse films belonging to the works of this renowned German filmmaker. His more recent Perfect Days (2023), about the simple yet passionate life of a cleaner in Tokyo, already became part of the international film canon as well. This fall, on Sunday afternoon, October 25, none other than Wim Wenders will deliver the Nexus Lecture! In the auditorium of Erasmus University Rotterdam, Wenders will speak about ‘The Future of Kindness’. What future is there for gentleness in our world, and what role do the arts play?
Wim Wenders is one of the most important figures in contemporary world cinema. He gained international fame as one of the protagonists of the New German Cinema in the 1970s, and is, in addition to being a filmmaker and documentary maker, also a screenwriter, producer, photographer, and author.
