Adolfo Castañón
Adolfo Castañón is a writer, translator and literary critic. He studied comparative literature and philosophy and in 1975 began working with the publishing house Fondo de Cultura Económica, becoming its director in 1985. In the 1990s, he was the leader of the Periolibros project, which publishes contemporary works at the price of a newspaper. Castañón edited the collected works of Octavio Paz, translated works by Rousseau and George Steiner into Spanish and wrote dozens of novels and poems. His poetry has been collected in La campana y el tiempo (2004).
