Alain Pringels

Alain Pringels is a dramaturgist. He studied psychology and theatre studies at the university of Ghent, and was founder of the theatre company De Schizo’s, experimenting with various theatrical forms. Later, he founded theatre companies Zwarte Meeuw (1994) and Unweeded Garden (2007). For a long time, Pringels combined his psychology practice with stage directing. Since 2004, he has been working with Toneelgroep De Appel, producing such plays as Odysseus, Orgia and, in 2012, Herakles. Pringels is a writer and editor for online literary, art and philosophy journal Alphaville.
