law professor and advocate of the classic liberal arts education
Anthony Kronman
Anthony Kronman is Sterling Professor of Law at Yale Law School and was its Dean for ten years. Kronman, who studied philosophy and law at Yale University, taught the Nexus Masterclass in 2009, which centered around his book Education’s End: Why Our Colleges and Universities Have Given Up on the Meaning of Life (2007). In it, he calls for renewed attention for the ‘great questions’ in the humanities, for which the philosophical and literary tradition is essential. Kronman applies his creed in teaching the ‘Great Books Program’ at Yale, where students study the great works of literature and philosophy.
