Awraham Soetendorp

Awraham Soetendorp is Rabbi Emeritus of the Liberal Jewish Congregration in The Hague, which he led between 1968 and 2008. He received various awards for his promotion of human rights, environment, interreligious dialogue and world peace. Internationally, he is known as the former president of the European region of the World Union for Progressive Judaism and vice president of the Global Forum of Spiritual and Parliamentary Leaders. In his own country, he is known as the founder and president of the Jacob Soetendorp Institute for Human Values, named after his father, and as the founder of the Fonds Hoop voor Kinderen.
