Bas Savenije

Bas Savenije is general director of the Royal Library in The Hague. After studying philosophy at Utrecht University, he held various executive positions at that university before becoming the director of its library in 1994. In that position, he was responsible for the creation of a new building and the move to the new location. In 2009, he became the director of the Royal Library, where he uses his expertise in digitalization and information services in making cultural heritage accessible. Bas Savenije is also the Chairman of the FOBID Netherlands Library Forum.
