Bill Cassidy

Bill Cassidy holds a seat in the US Senate for the state of Louisiana until January 2027. Cassidy was trained as a doctor and made a name for himself by his work in Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana, where he, amongst other things, set up a clinic for the uninsured, launched an initiative that saw 36 thousand children receive a hepatitis vaccination, and established an emergency hospital in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Since becoming a senator in 2014, he has worked, amongst other things, to reduce health care costs and reform mental health care. Cassidy is chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP).
