Coen Stork
Coen Stork was Dutch Embassador in Pretoria, Havana and Bucharest. He personally experienced the Romanian Revolution of December 1989, which led to the fall of Ceauşescu’s regime. In 2000, he initiated the foundation of an institute – the Romanian Institute for Recent History (IRIR) – dedicated to historical investigation into the fifty years of dictatorship in Romania, starting in 1938, and into the period after.
