Derrick de Kerckhove
Derrick de Kerckhove studied French language and literature and gained his PhD at the University of Toronto, where he worked with Marshall McLuhan for ten years. De Kerckhove was Professor in the Department of French at the University of Toronto, and between 1983 and 2008, director of the McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology. He wrote books such as The Skin of Culture (1995), Connected Intelligence (1997) and The Augmented Mind (2011). He has been a member of the Club of Rome since 1995.
