Edward Timms

Edward Timms is a Research Professor at the Centre for German-Jewish Studies of the University of Sussex, which he founded. Timms writes on German and Austrian cultural history and is especially known for his biography Karl Kraus – Apocalyptic Satirist, its two parts published in 1986 and 2005 respectively. He also wrote Freud in Exile: Psychoanalysis and its Vicissitudes (1988), Nationalist Myths and Modern Media: Contested Identities in the Age of Globalization (2006) and, with Deborah Schultz, Pictorial Narrative in the Nazi Period (2009).
