Fritz J. Raddatz
Fritz J. Raddatz was one of the most influential literary critics of Germany. He was considered a brilliant and original scholar, essayist (with works on Lukács, Heine, Tucholsky, Grass and others), biographer (of Marx, Benn, Rilke) and novelist. He studied philosophy, history, German, art history and American studies. He wrote for the Berliner Zeitung and worked for Volk und Welt publishers in East Berlin, and later, after his emigration to the West, for Kindler and Rowohlt. He also worked for Die Zeit until 2001. In 2010, his Tagebücher 1982–2001 came out.
