Gabriel Vahanian

Gabriel Vahanian was a protestant theologian. He was educated at Princeton. He translated Karl Barth’s The Faith of the Church into English and is generally praised for his pioneering work in the theology of ‘the death of God’. Vahanian wrote on the relationship between culture and theology. Among his works are The Death of God: The Culture of Our Post-Christian Era (1961), L’utopie chrétienne (1992) and Tillich and the New Religious Paradigm (2004).
