Hal Foster
Hal Foster is Professor of Art and Archeology at Princeton University and regularly writes on art in journals and newspapers such as the London Review of Books and the Los Angeles Times Book Review. He studied English literature and art history at Princeton and worked at the Whitney Museum. In 1983, he proclaimed the beginning of the postmodern age in in The Anti-Aesthetic: Essays on Postmodern Culture. Foster obtained a PhD in art history at the City University of New York and published works such as The Return of the Real (1996), The Art-Architecture Complex (2011) en The First Pop Age (2011).
