Hania Bitar

Hania Bitar studied American Literature at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and received a Fulbright Scholarship to study in the US. In 1997, she began The Youth Times, the first Palestine newspaper for young people. Since 1999, she has been CEO of PYALARA, the Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation, an NGO she founded which focuses on youth media in the Occupied Territories. Bitar was also among the founders, in 2005, of the International Women’s Commission for a Just and Sustainable Israeli-Palestinian Peace.
