Hans Abbing
Hans Abbing is an artist and economist. He studied economics and investigated the relationship between art and economy. He also studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy for fine arts and design. In 2002, he published Why are Artists Poor? The Exceptional Economy of the Arts. Abbing was a visiting professor at various universities and special professor in art sociology at the University of Amsterdam between 2005 and 2008. Abbing also works as a painter and photographer.
