Ilse Frech
Ilse Frech is a photographer. She studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, the St. Joost Academy in Breda and the University of Art and Design in Geneva. Her photographs appeared in Dutch journals and newspapers such as de Volkskrant, Trouw, Vrij Nederland, Hollands Diep, Die Zeit and Libération. She won the Silver Camera twice. Between 2005 and 2008, Frech portrayed young Muslim women in the Parisian banlieues. This project led to the book I Am-Paradox Identity (2009) and an exposition in the Netherlands, France and Switzerland.
