Iwona Blazwick

Iwona Blazwick studied English and visual arts. She worked as assistant curator and director of exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, and as director of exhibitions at the Tate Modern. She is currently the director of the Whitechapel Art Gallery. She curated exhibitions with work of, among others, Katharina Fritsch, Willie Doherty and Damien Hirst. She also published Ilya Kabakov (1998), Century City: Art and Culture in the Modern Metropolis (2001) and Tate Modern: The Handbook (2001).
