Louise Fresco

Louise O. Fresco is an agronomist and author. She studied agrarian sociology in Wageningen, gained a PhD with honours there and was a professor between 1990 and 1997. She then held various positions at the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization, that of assistant director-general, until 2006, among them. Since then, Fresco has been university professor at the University of Amsterdam, which she combines with advisory functions in the cultural and scientific world. Besides her scholarly and fiction writing, she has a column in NRC Handelsblad.
