Marcel Proust
Marcel Proust was a writer of novels and essays. His main work is À la recherche du temps perdu , which he wrote between 1909 and 1922. It was published posthumously, after its completion, by Proust’s brother in 1927. The novel comprises seven volumes and offers a unique insight into the life of the French elite of the fin de siècle after the Dreyfus affair. It is one of the monumental works of twentieth century literature.
