Meindert Fennema

Meindert Fennema is a political scientist. He studied sociology and political science and in 1975 began teaching at the University of Amsterdam, where he is now Professor in Political Theory and Ethnic Relations at the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies. His books and articles mostly deal with anti-immigrant parties in Western Europe. Fennema earned renown as the political biographer of Geert Wilders, the leader of the Dutch populist party PVV. In Geert Wilders. Tovenaarsleerling (2010), he tries to place the rise of Wilders in its historical and political context. In 2012, he published Van Thomas Jefferson tot Pim Fortuyn.
