Moshe Idel

Moshe Idel is a historian and philologist. Between 1975 and 2009, he was Professor in Jewish Thought at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, specializing in Jewish mysticism. He was a visiting professor at Yale, Harvard, Princeton and the Collège de France. He wrote books such as Hasidism: Between Ecstasy and Magic (1995) and Old Worlds, New Mirror, On Jewish Mysticism and Twentieth-Century Thought (2010).
