Peter Pomerantsev

Peter Pomerantsev is considered one of most informed and best observers of today’s Russia. Born in Kiev, his parents fled as dissidents to the United Kingdom during his youth. In 2002, Pomerantsev decided to go back and worked for over ten years in Moscow’s rapidly expanding television and film industries. His position gave him a unique insight into the lives and dealings of both the shadowy Russian underworld and the rich (political) elite of Moscow, in Russia and the West, while also allowing him to explore their ties and mutual dependencies.Based on his experiences in Russia, he wrote Nothing is true and everything is possible (2015), an insightful study of the methods of Russian propaganda. Pomerantsev is currently Senior Fellow at the Legatum Institute in London, leading its Beyond Propaganda Programme and advising the EU on Russia and its culture, and publishes in The London Review of Books, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, Newsweek and The Atlantic.
