Peter Sloterdijk

Peter Sloterdijk is a cultural philosopher. He became known with his 1983 book Kritik der zynischen Vernunft (1983, English translation Critique of Cynical Reason, 1988). Since then, he has published a large number of philosophical books, Sphären (1998-2004, English translation Bubbles. Spheres I 2011), Zorn und Zeit (2006, English translation Rage and Time, 2010) and Gottes Eifer. Vom Kampf der drei Monotheismen (2007, English translation God’s Zeal: The Battle of the Three Monotheisms, 2009) among them. Sloterdijk has been Professor of Philosophy and Media Theory at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe since 1992, where he is now also principal. Between 2002 and 2012, he hosted the TV show Das Philosophische Quartett.
