Peter Stephan Jungk

Peter Stephan Jungk is a writer who is at home both in the English and the German language. His career began at the Basel theatre; later, he became screenwriter with the American Film Institute. Among his publications are Stechpalmenwald (1978), the acclaimed biography Franz Werfel. A Life Torn by History (1990) and the novel The Snowflake Constant (2002). His fictional biography of Walt Disney’s last months, The Perfect American (2004), was turned into an opera by Philip Glass, which premiered in 2013.
