Piet Gerbrandy

Piet Gerbrandy is a classicist, poet, and essayist. He teaches Latin at the University of Amsterdam and published, besides poetry, anthologies, translations and essays on poetry. In 2007, his book Het feest van Saturnus: de literatuur van het heidense Rome came out, and in 2010 the poetry collection Morgen ben ik vrij. 2011 saw the appearance of his 2009 PhD thesis on the poetry of H.H. ter Balkt and Jacques Hamelink, entitled De gong en de rookberg.
