Ruud Lubbers
Ruud Lubbers was a former Christian Democratic politician. He was Minister of Economic Affairs from 1973 to 1977, then became the leader of the CDA in the Dutch parliament and was Prime Minister of The Netherlands from 1982 to 1994. After an international career with the United Nations and various professorships, in his last years he assumed an active role as a public intellectual.
