Salam Fayyad

Salam Fayyad was Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority between 2007 and 2013. He studied economics at the University of Texas and went on to teach at Yarmouk University in Jordan. After holding various positions in the world of banking, such as the IMF in Washington, he became finance minister of the Palestinian Authority from 2003 to 2005. In 2007, he was named Prime Minister. During his years in office, he promoted the establishment of a de facto operational Palestinian state at peace with Israel.
