Siddhartha Mukherjee

Siddhartha Mukherjee is a researcher and assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University. He specializes in hematology and oncology, and is a pioneer researcher in the field of cancer medication. Mukherjee, who studied at Harvard and Oxford, wrote the authoritative The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer (2010), which describes the history of the disease as well as that of cancer treatment. It won both the Pulitzer Prize and the Guardian Prize, and was included by Time Magazine and New York Times Magazine in the top 100 of best books since 1923.
