Svetlana Boym

Svetlana Boym escaped from the Soviet regime as a teenager, and went on to study at Boston University and gain a PhD at Harvard. She was Professor of Slavic and Comparative Literatures at Harvard, and wrote novels and plays besides working as a media artist. Among her works are The Future of Nostalgia (2001), Ninotchka. A Novel (2003) and Another Freedom: The Alternative History of an Idea (2010).
