Tamar Halperin
Tamar Halperin is a pianist and harpsichordist with a passion for Baroque music, although she performs contemporary music with equal enthusiasm. Halperin composes, arranges, and plays a wide range of genres, including pop, jazz, electronic music, and new classical compositions. Her album Satie, in which she plays piano, harpsichord, Wurlitzer, Hammond organ, glockenspiel, and the computer, received critical acclaim. Halperin has won numerous awards, including the Hessian Cultural Prize in 2016, the echo Jazz Award (2010, 2014), and several prestigious fellowships. With a repertoire spanning five centuries, she performs globally as a soloist and with chamber groups in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
