William Montgomery Watt

William Montgomery Watt was a Scottish historian and Professor in Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Edinburgh. His works, and particularly his Muhammad biographies Muhammad at Mecca (1953) and Muhammad at Medina (1956), have been of major importance to Islamic studies. He also wrote Islamic Creeds (1994), Islamic Political Thought (1998) and A Christian Faith for Today (2002).
