Zainab Al-Suwaij

Zainab Al-Suwaij is the granddaughter of an Iraqi Grand Ayatollah and is the cofounder of the American Islamic Congress in Washington. She is an outspoken defender of women’s rights and interreligious tolerance. She published articles in The New York Times and Wall Street Journal and taught at universities such as Harvard and Yale.
