A.S. Byatt
A.S. Byatt was the author of novels and poetry. She studied at Cambridge, taught at the Central School of Art and Design and was a lecturer in English and American literature at University College London before becoming a fulltime writer in 1983. She received the Booker Prize for her novel Possession (1990). Other works are The Children’s Book (2009) and Ragnarok (2011), and literary criticism such as Passions of the Mind (1991). Byatt was a regular contributor to newspapers and journals such as The Guardian and The Times Literary Supplement.
