Andrea Marcolongo
Andrea Marcolongo is a classicist and writer. She studied at the University of Milan and the Scuola Holden in Turin. In 2016, Marcolongo gained international recognition with her book The Ingenious Language: Nine Epic Reasons to Love Greek, which sold over 200 thousand copies in Italy and has been published in many languages. It is a passionate plea for the social significance of a dead language in our time. In 2018, Marcolongo published La misura eroica for which she was awarded the Lupicaia del Terriccio prize in 2018. In 2022, she wrote her latest book, De arte gymnastica, about the perception of sports in antiquity.
