Bernhard Schlink
Bernhard Schlink is a Professor Emeritus of Law at Humboldt University in Berlin. As a writer, he rose to international fame with Der Vorleser (1995), his first literary novel, of which a film adaptation was made in 2008: The Reader. Until then, Schlink was mainly known for his detective novels. He has since written a number of literary works, such as Liebesfluchten (2000, English translation Flights of Love, 2001) and Das Wochenende (2008, English translation The Weekend, 2010).
