Bruno Monsaingeon

Bruno Monsaingeon is a concert violinist in Paris who became known as the director of documentary films on legendary classical musicians such as Nadia Boulanger, Murrah Perahia and Michael Tilson Thomas. His film portraits frequently have a very intimate nature and have been awarded various prizes at film festivals. Monsaingeon’s best-known films are those on the eccentric Canadian pianist Glenn Gould: The Goldberg Variations (1981), Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould (1993) and Hereafter (2005). 2009 saw the dvd release of his portrait of Piotr Anderszewski.
