Candace Allen
Candace Allen is a screenwriter. She went to New York University School for Film and Television after graduating from Harvard. In the course of her career in Hollywood, she worked with Sidney Poitier, Marlon Brando, Diane Keaton and Bill Cosby, among others. She was the first black woman to be made a member of the Directors Guild of America. In 2004, she published her book Valaida on entertainer and jazz trumpetist Valaida Snow. Soul Music appeared in 2012.
