Cees Maris van Sandelingenambacht

Cees Maris studied law in Amsterdam, where he gained his PhD with honours in 1979. He has been Professor of the Philosophy of Law at the University of Amsterdam since 1989. His inaugural lecture, Horror vacui, was performed as an oratorio. Maris is co-editor and co-author of Recht en liefde (1996), a collection of articles centered around the questions what love is and to what extent love can be evaluated.
