Colm Tóibín

Colm Tóibín is a writer. He studied history and English and taught English in Barcelona. Tóibín worked as a journalist and editor in Ireland before breaking through as a writer in the 1990s with works such as The Story of the Night (1996), The Blackwater Lightship (1999), The Master (2006, on the life of Henry James), Brooklyn (2009), The Testament of Mary (2012) and Nora Webster (2014). He has been teaching at Princeton and the University of Manchester since 2011.
